If there is something you have always wanted to do,
a place you’ve always wanted to go,
something you’ve always wanted to have, achieve or to be,
there is no time like the present.
I have seen far too many people put off their dreams for
another day, another time, another life, until……..
that time never comes.
Life is busy and time passes quickly. The opportunity to fulfill our dreams is not guaranteed. Do not allow your dreams to become regrets. Regrets have no good place in our lives or in our hearts; they only bring disappointment and sorrow.
I am inspired by so many people around me. My best friend from junior high and high school is one. She always aspired to be an archaeologist as a young girl. We used to envision the many adventures she might have. Fresh out of school, she fell in love with a wonderful man and in time they began a family. While she had a fulfilling life, she kept her dream safely alive inside. She didn’t allow the passage of time to bury it away. After her daughters were grown, she decided to take action and to move towards getting a degree. Today, she is an archaeologist and frequently sends me photos of artifacts and the different sites on which she gets to work, the amazing places she visits. With little means, she made her dream come true in her fifth decade of life. She has set an example for her children and for her friends, that anything is possible. At any age, you can pursue your dreams. Had she not taken the initiative, her dream would have been only a distant desire in her head.
It is up to you to light your inner fire, your passion of desire. Let nothing stand in your way. When you are determined, the Universe conspires with you to fulfill your wildest wishes. Just as she did, it is up to you to take the first step. You are the only person who can take action on your dreams. Write down one thing you can do to move in the direction of your dream. You don’t always have to know ‘how’ it will find its way. Set small tasks. Who could you talk to to help you accomplish your desire? What could you read? What tools do you need? Who and what inspires you? Your effort, no matter how small, is a stepping stone towards your dream. You might connect with people who may have already experienced or accomplished your dream or perhaps someone who is living it. Perhaps you will reach out on line or you will begin to ask around. Put your intention out to the ethers. Ask for divine guidance to help bring your dream to fruition if it is for your highest and best good. If you connect with someone who has been there, seen that, done that, ask for tips. If you don’t ask, you will never know. You may have someone already in your life who is a wealth of information, who is excited to help you, to provide guidance or who has contacts to help you attain your dream.
If your dreams have long since been buried, give yourself the luxury of dreaming again. Give thanks every day for the freedom to dream and for the life you already live. One step at a time, one day at a time, as you put your focus on what is important to you, you get closer to it until you are in the midst of it. That is the magic of intention. No matter your circumstances, anything is possible. The only limits we have are those we put on ourselves. If you can dream it, you can experience it. May you nurture your dreams. Imagine at the end of your days, pondering the wonderful life you lived, the things you did, the places you went, the memories you have with those you love rather than those things you could have, should have or might have done or been.
“One day you will wake up
and there won’t be any more time
to do the things you’ve always wanted to do.
Do it now!”
