This easy to make bowl is a sure party pleaser.
Organic Ingredients:
1 large sweet ripe watermelon
1 – 2 dozen frozen strawberries
1 – 4 fresh or frozen passion fruit (may substitute yellow raspberries)
Directions:
Cut one watermelon in half on a cutting board.
Set one half aside.
Holding one half in place, use a small melon scoop to make melon balls by starting deep in the melon for fully round melon balls.
Scoop as many balls as you can.
When you have reached the bottom of the watermelon, scrape out the remaining fruit flesh to be saved to blend into a delicious juice.
Using a small knife, carve out the edges of the watermelon.
Fill the empty bowl with watermelon balls.
Top with frozen berries and/or with passion fruit or yellow raspberries.
Repeat with other half for double the treat.
Tips:
Use a melon scoop that has a hole in it to drain the excess juice for the roundest balls.
If you don’t have a scoop, small pieces of chopped watermelon is an easy alternative.
Serve with a container of toothpicks nearby.
